Landon Dodd and his hard driving boot-scoottin' band, The Dancehall Drifters kicked off the Gathering this year. Landon is an extremely talented artist from the Fort Worth area. In every time I've had the pleasure to photograph the action of this drummer (Chris York) and bass (Carl Garner), they always never cease to amaze me at how well they work together. Though this photographer was well into their personal space, they never, ever missed a lick. Landon's steel (Gary Carpenter) and fiddle (Kevin Carter) artists flowed endlessly together like peanut butter and honey as a Texas August afternoon snack.
